A Modern Café and Bar Arrives in Dubai

Originally from Odessa, Ukraine, Forty Five Cafe has opened its second establishment in Port De La Mer, Dubai.

To connect the two outposts, a light blue wallcovering, paired with textured, sand-inspired terracotta inserts, nods to the Black Sea in Odessa and the Persian Gulf in Dubai.

A chandelier that suspends over the dining tables resembles a stork’s nest, crafted from filigree assembled from small branches to create a rounded shape. Deeper inside the café, another long horizontal chandelier, made from sawn wood, serves as a decorative installation and illuminates the area above the bar.

Peach-toned bar stools and emerald green banquettes offer pops of color to an otherwise neutral palette of marble and plaster. Elements throughout the interior add a modern and underground flair, including light installations along the columns and bar counter that extend to the ceiling, and a curved, torn metal panel that seemingly exposes a brick wall.

To round out the space, olive trees were placed around the perimeter.
