WASHINGTON – Vancouver-based e-commerce furniture retailer Article has recalled 4,640 swivel chairs due to a fall hazard.

Announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall involves spin swivel chairs that were sold exclusively on from July 2021 through June 2023. Around 4,500 chairs were sold in the U.S., with the remaining 140 sold in Canada. Article has received 190 reports of the base of the chair breaking. No injuries have been reported.

The chairs sold for around $700 each and were made in Vietnam.

The upholstered chairs have gold-colored stainless steel swivel legs and were sold in ivory, gray, orangeprod and blue upholstery. They measure approximately 32.5 inches tall, 32 inches deep, and 30.5 inches wide.

The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the chairs immediately, and to contact Article for a free replacement base and installation instructions. Article is contacting all known purchasers directly.
