EDITION Hotels Expands to Saudi Arabia

EDITION Hotels has expanded into Saudi Arabia with the debut of the Jeddah EDITION. The new property is a collaboration between EDITION, Marriott International, and design firm Yabu Pushelberg, under the leadership of Sela.

Perched above one of the corners of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Circuit and adjacent to the Jeddah Yacht Club and Marina, the hotel settles into its location as a sleek, low-rise building that resembles a superyacht.

The Jeddah EDITION features 52 rooms and 11 suites (including two penthouses), two lounges, culinary concepts from chef Cédric Vongerichten, a rooftop terrace with a pool, as well as a spa and gym.

Designed in a partnership with Yabu Pushelberg, the hotel is rooted in the EDITION brand’s style of refined simplicity.

In the lobby, a large orange acrylic sphere by artist Vincent Leroy takes centerstage beneath soaring 40-foot-tall ceilings. Morning light radiates through the installation, dispersing a warm spherical glow onto clean-lined, brushed white oak walls and travertine floors.

Adjacent to the lobby is a light-filled lounge and adjoining lobby bar, which features oak coffee tables, American black walnut wood flooring, and plaster walls with molding details.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s guestrooms—offering views of the Red Sea or the F1 track—embody muted luxury with travertine flooring, inset leather headboards, and white oiled oak wall paneling embellished with black and white photographs of old Jeddah.

Restaurants at the Jeddah EDITION

French-Asian restaurant Maritime boasts two private dining rooms and an open kitchen. Curved light plum velvet banquettes and walnut dining tables are paired with rich details, such as distressed glass mirrors, potted banana leaf plants, and blue and white Chinese pottery.

A corridor in Maritime leads to the Den, a secluded, low-lit cigar room dressed in tufted teal blue velvet banquettes, rich brown armchairs, and walls adorned with whimsical photographs by Christian Vieler.

The fourth floor is home to the Roof, a Mediterranean beach club-inspired escape that features a series of private nooks and lounges overflowing with greenery and a sleek 45-foot-long pool.
