Long-tenured Havertys exec announces retirement this fall

ATLANTA — After 38 years with the company, Senior Vice President of Merchandising Rhonda J. Wolf has decided to retire from her post at Havertys at the end of September 2024.

Wolf has served in her current role since 2021. She joined Havertys in 1986, advancing through the company’s retail operations to market manager.

Her aptitude for product selection and discernment of quality and value gained in her retail role were recognized by the company, and she joined Havertys’ merchandising team in 1999.

With special expertise in upholstery, Wolf was promoted to assistant vice president of  merchandise in 2002 and vice president in 2009.

“Rhonda has been responsible for our largest merchandise category and has been a valuable and impactful asset to Havertys,” said Clarence Smith, chairman and CEO. “She was instrumental in shaping our upholstery line-up and the development of the Havertys brand 20 years ago.”

Calling Wolf’s expertise a competitive advantage for Havertys, Smith added, “Rhonda’s commitment to her team, strong relationships with our vendor partners, exceptional talents and affability will be missed. The entire Havertys team wish Rhonda the very best in her retirement.”

“It has been a tremendous 38 years, and I’ll be forever grateful for the opportunity to represent Havertys,” said Wolf. “I am deeply thankful to the Havertys team, vendor partners and industry friends for your confidence and support.”

Havertys will conduct an internal and external search to strengthen its merchandising team.
