McGuire introduces 25-piece resort-inspired outdoor collection

McGuire, a pioneer of naturally luxurious fine furniture, has debuted The Baker Resort Collection for McGuire – Outdoor as an expansion of the celebrated The Baker Resort Collection for McGuire that was introduced last fall.

The 25 new outdoor pieces evoke a modern coastal aesthetic, drawing inspiration from oceanfront vacation destinations and luxury outdoor living environments around the globe, such as the Caribbean, Mediterranean, South Pacific and beyond. Capturing the ease and comfort of life in the islands, this clean-lined, contemporary collection — including chairs, tables, lounges, benches and more — offers a new perspective on outdoor living.

“We are thrilled to introduce this expansion to our first-ever joint Baker-McGuire collection, which was one of our most successful and significant launches to date,” says Erica Wingo, senior vice president of merchandising and marketing at Baker-McGuire. “These lively outdoor designs for McGuire channel a tranquil, vacationlike ambience and are masterfully constructed to withstand the elements of sand, salt, ocean mist, rain and more. As we looked to further build out the new Resort line, adding outdoor pieces felt like a natural progression given the intrinsic emphasis of outdoor dining, entertaining and relaxation within tropical destinations. We also sought to celebrate McGuire’s distinguished coastal California roots and legacy of laid-back luxury.”

Abaco Lounge Chair

McGuire’s unparalleled quality and craftsmanship is on full display within the Baker Resort Collection for McGuire – Outdoor. Each of the 25 pieces features powder-coated aluminum in a custom white Sea Salt colorway, and all seating boasts weather-resistant strapping. The tabletops bear Italian outdoor stone. Designed to evoke a sense of comfort, escape and relaxation, with sleek design cues that pair with soft, feminine forms, the items embody the allure of coastal retreats while promising utmost durability. The collection of modern, geometric pieces is complemented by elegant, classical touches.

Highlights from The Baker Resort Collection for McGuire – Outdoor include:

• Lanikai Rectangle Dining Table – Cleanly designed, yet substantial, the Lanikai Rectangle Dining Table takes its cues from traditional Florentine architecture. Its shaping plays with geometric forms, while its stacked base mimics the look of quoins, or decorative corners, found on Italian buildings.

• Phuket Arm Chair – The smooth white aluminum frame of the Phuket Arm Chair is wrapped in weather-resistant strapping that nods to the tropical character of the Thai islands. The chair’s soft, modern lines, tapered legs and rounded edges honor the traditions of classicism.

• Condado Spot Table – Contemporary and geometric, the Condado Spot Table balances sleek design with the style of the modern Caribbean. The table takes its name from the luxurious and bustling beachfront neighborhood of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

• Phuket Chaise Lounge – Cradling the body with weather-resistant strapping, the Phuket Chaise Lounge features a white aluminum frame crafted with tapered legs that nod to classical design.

Phuket Settee

• Abaco Lounge Chair – The Abaco Lounge Chair features the outdoor collection’s trademark design element: finely crafted slats that echo the design of beach cottages in the Bahamas. This swivel chair offers contoured arms and a laid-back silhouette with a quiet sophistication.

• Navagio Bench – Named after the secluded “Shipwreck Beach” off the west coast of Greece, the Navagio Bench is a treasure in its own right: a substantial, stylish choice that’s at home in the elements. This versatile piece can be used for dining, to anchor a seating area or as an entry bench.

The Baker Resort Collection for McGuire – Outdoor debuted at the spring High Point Market and will be available on showroom floors in late spring.
