On the Move: Organizational Updates From Across the Industry

From leadership promotions to hires, we round up the latest organizational updates from design firms, hotel brands, and more.

Washington, DC-based //3877 has promoted senior associate Ryan Petyak, who has been with the team since 2013, to partner alongside the architecture and design firm’s cofounders, David Tracz and David Shove-Brown. Additionally, //3877 has welcomed interior designer Allie Schoon to continue growing its presence in the New York market.

Gonzalo Aguilar will step into the role of CEO at Minor Hotels on January 1st, 2025. Aguilar will succeed CEO Ramón Aragonés, who is retiring at the end of this year and will remain a member of its board of directors and serve as non-executive vice chairman. 

Portland, Oregon-based Source has acquired 20-year-old Jupiter, Florida-based company Berman Purchasing, creating a bicoastal, women-led procurement firm with decades of FF&E purchasing experience across a range of projects. 

Tihany Design founder and CEO Adam D. Tihany has officially passed the baton to partner Alessia Genova, who now fully manages the New York-based atelier, its satellite associates in Rome, and the retention of its clients. The strategic move culminates the duo’s 15-year collaboration, with the last four in partnership.

DLR Group has elevated Pamela Touschner and Peter Rutti to the role of managing principal. Touschner leads the firm’s California region, while Rutti serves as chief design officer. Touschner is also a member of DLR Group’s board of directors and Rutti sits as an advisory member.

In conjunction with its 35th anniversary, interior design firm KCA International has announced several major promotions: Rakan Jandali, design principal and creative director; Amanda Barrett, creative operations director; Benedick Bello, technical director; Mohamed Yusuf, chief financial officer; Wiktoria Kopycka, projects director and new business development; Pei Wan, associate; and Alice Colnaghi, KCA’s global liaison officer.

Wellness brand THE WELL has named Zeev Sharon chief development officer. Sharon, formerly THE WELL’s vice president of real estate, will oversee the growth of the company’s footprint in major cities across the U.S. and Europe, including its first European location in Geneva slated to open in 2027. 

Dreamscape Hospitality has appointed Adam Patenaude its new president. Patenaude joins the company following 15 years with Aimbridge Hospitality, where he most recently served as senior vice president of operations.

Boston-based RODE Architects has acquired McMahon Architects, a full-service firm specializing in workplace interiors, hospitality, restaurant, residential, and environmental design. The acquisition allows RODE to build upon its vision to embed hospitality into the workplace in a post-pandemic landscape.

While expanding its footprint in the southeastern U.S., Dyer Brown has announced the addition of interior designer Ymani Mackey—who was most recently an in-house designer and project manager for Grady Health System—to its Atlanta office.
