Precision Textiles expands leadership team with quality control executive

FAIRFIELD, N.J. – Precision Textiles has named bedding industry veteran Bill Learn as its new director of quality control.

Prior to joining Precision Textiles, Learn was director of quality control for Global Textiles Alliance, a job he held for nearly nine years. He also worked with Tempur Sealy International as product development manager.

In his new position with Precision Textiles, Learn will lead the company’s quality processes across all product lines and facilities. The company supplies nonwovens and laminate solutions for the mattress, home furnishings, healthcare and automotive industries.

Learn also will ensure internal and external requirements are met and drive improvements in manufacturing operations for quality, efficiency and cost reduction. He reports to Keith Martin, vice president of Precision Textiles.

“(Bill’s) extensive experience in the bedding industry and proven track record in quality control will be instrumental in advancing our quality initiatives and optimizing our processes,” Martin said. “We look forward to seeing the positive impact he will make for us and our customers as we continue to uphold the highest standards in the industry.”

A Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Learn will use Six Sigma tools to problem solve and make improvements as needed. He will also work with manufacturing, sales and product development to maintain internal product specifications across the company’s facilities, ensuring customers receive the quality product regardless of where it is produced.

“I’m looking forward to working with our suppliers to better define raw materials requirements and with our product development and manufacturing teams to advance and develop new, sustainable methods of practice and achieve overall business goals,” Learn said.
