Star Furniture names its first trade ambassador, plans to launch trade program in 2024

KATY, Texas — Texas furniture retailer Star Furniture has named its first trade ambassador, signing a deal with Houston-based interior designer Jessica Duce, principal and founder of JDuce Design and the co-founder of Vacation Rental Designers and the Vacation Rental Design Summit.

As a consultant on a forthcoming trade program, Duce, a home furnishings influencer specializing in luxury residential and vacation rental design, will be featured in a new video series for Star Furniture focused on trends and designer tips.

In addition to her role in the video series, Duce is working with Michael Galloway, vice president of marketing, on the trade program.  Scheduled to launch later this year, the trade program is designed to expand Star’s customer base among interior designers.

“Working with Jessica and a team of other interior designers in the Houston area, we are looking to make our trade program superior to any,” Galloway said. “Our goal is to be the resource of choice for this elite group.”

Duce has operated her own interior design practice for 20 years near Star’s West Houston flagship store.

“It’s exciting to learn about the resources we have in my own backyard,” said Duce, noting Star’s access to many large brands that small design studios may not be able to open accounts with, as well as the potential for Star to handle logistics for the trade. “That’s a big deal for designers.”

Star Furniture, part of Top 100 Berkshire Hathaway home furnishings group, operates 10 stores in Houston, Austin, Bryan/College Station and San Antonio, offering higher-end furniture products to customers supported by outstanding service in the four markets. Galloway had been looking for ways to bring excitement and value to Star clients and guests, and he said that introducing a professional interior designer brand ambassador was one of the solutions.

“We needed a talented interior designer with charisma and Duce met all the expectations,” said Galloway. “She’s smart and well-versed in the importance of branding and communication, too. We couldn’t be happier. Our social media has already grown since introducing Jessica, and we have so many plans for the future.”
