There’s a new furniture megastore coming to town in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — The Las Vegas Review-Journal is reporting that a new 273,000-square-foot Ashley retail megastore is underway in Las Vegas and scheduled to open in early 2025.

The latest addition to Ashley’s Las Vegas retail line-up will be the fifth in the area. According to the Review-Journal, it will also serve as a distribution center and a showroom. Plans for the project were approved in 2021.

When Ashley purchased the property, nearly 20.4 acres just off Sunset Road in late December 2020, CEO Todd Wanek confirmed the purchase to Furniture Today. “We purchased the land, and we are constructing a warehouse, an Ashley HomeStore and outlet. It is going to be 400,000 square feet.”

Ashley officials said Las Vegas’ increasing number of homes factored into the decision to build a megastore at the location visible from the Beltway and South Durango Drive, according to the Review-Journal. LVRJ sources also report that data from the Nevada Department of Taxation supports growth, showing that all furniture stores’ taxable sales in Clark County increased by 45.4% in March compared year-over-year.

Earlier this month, the Review-Journal reported that Las Vegas’ luxury home market is also performing well for the first half of 2024, with luxury resales of $1 million and more up 37% through the first five months of 2024. The additions of sports teams to the entertainment options of Las Vegas and proximity to California are fueling the growth, according to one local realtor.
